Why Siddha?

Origin of Siddha

The term ‘Siddha’ means achievements and ‘Siddhars’ were saintly people who achieved results in medicine. Eighteen Siddhars were said to have contributed towards the development of this medical system.

The Siddha system is one of the oldest systems of medicine in India. Its origin goes back to B.C 4,000.
The basic concepts of the Siddha medicine are the same as those of Ayurveda. The difference is mostly in detail, Siddha being influenced by the local tradition with roots in the ancient Dravidian culture.

Basic Concepts of Siddha

In Siddha system chemistry has been found well developed into a science auxillary to medicine and alchemy. The knowledge of plants and minerals were of very high order and they were fully acquainted with almost all the branches of science. 

The Siddha system is capable of treating most types of illnesses other than emergency cases. In general this system is effective in treating most types of skin problems for example Psoriasis, STD, urinary tract infections, diseases of liver and gastro intestinal tract, general debility, postpartum anaemia, diarrhoea and general fevers in addition to arthritis and allergic disorders.
